US Tool Group “Green” Environmental Contribution

US Tool's historical core business is recycling cutting tools. Currently US Tool reconditions over 500,000 pieces of cutting tools per week, representing >$18,000,000 dollars in reconditioning/recycling effort per year.

Cutting tools are manufactured from various tool steels requiring steel, cobalt, molybdenum, vanadium, nickel tungsten and chromium.  Each year, US Tool’s cutting tool reconditioning service processes over one million pounds of cutting tools. 

Since the average tool can be recycled four times, US Tool’s recycling process reduces the impact on our environment in energy, mining, smelting, grinding, etc. of effectively four million pounds of raw materials annually.

Given the ease with which cutting tools can be reconditioned, the multiple resharpening opportunities for each original new tool and the investment and environmental savings, US Tool’s recycling program is Simple, Sustainable and Smart.
